Celebrating Gabriella’s 1st Birthday!

Doing a one year old photoshoot is an absolute must for young families! There’s something so special about first birthdays—the mix of wonder, growing independence, and the joy that lights up a little one’s face as they explore the world around them. Gabriella brought all of that magic to life as she played and explored my natural light studio for her one-year photoshoot.

Ella was joined by her big sister, Sofia, and their adoring parents, and together they filled the studio with so much love! We started the session with all of the family combinations—sweet moments with Mom and Dad, sister cuddles, and lots of full family snuggles. Then we let Ella loose, and she gave us a full range of adorable expressions as she played with the toys in my studio.

Time for the Cake Smash!

We finished our session with the sweetest (and messiest!) part of the day—a cake smash to celebrate Ella turning one. Ella got first crack at her beautiful little cake, poking and tasting with that cautious skepticism of a one year old who’s never tasted cake before. And then, in true big sister fashion, Sofia joined in on the fun. Sofia helped feed Ella some cake, and that was all the encouragement Ella needed to decide that cake is pretty darn yummy, after all! We all had the best time watching these two sweet sisters make a sugary mess together!

I’ve had the privilege of capturing many milestones for this sweet family over the years, and it is so much fun watching their girls grow up. These early years fly by so quickly, and I’m always honored to freeze these moments in time—sticky hands, sweet smiles, and all!
