Newborn Photography | Phoenixville, PA

Newborn photography is such a fun job! I’m so excited to share some of my favorite moments from sweet Nolan’s newborn photoshoot.
Nolan surprised his parents by arriving early. I guess he just couldn’t wait to hurry up and meet his parents and furry siblings and get all the snuggles started in the outside world! Nolan was 6 weeks old when we did his newborn photos, and he still had room to grow into his newborn clothes. I actually pulled out a preemie sized onesie that I brought along with me and when we tried it on him, it fit him perfectly. The most important tip I tell my clients when they pick out outfits for newborn photography is that a snug fit is best. This ensures that the fabric doesn’t cover the baby’s sweet little hands or feet or bunch up and cover their chin. I never want to miss a single adorable detail when capturing your new little love!

Two epic diaper changes gave us extra time to capture Nolan on his changing table. I just can’t get over all the sweet little expressions Nolan made while mom was changing his diaper! Natural, unposed moments like this make my heart sing as a newborn photographer. Give me authentic, natural expressions over elaborate newborn poses any day! Is it weird of me to say I want everyone to invite me over to their house to take pictures of their baby while they change his diaper? Maybe…but I LOVE it!

When mom reached out to learn more about my newborn photography, she knew one of her top priorities was including their dogs in the family photos with their new baby brother. They were her first babies, after all, and from the moment I arrived Lambert and Chase didn’t want to miss a moment of the snuggles. Lambert doesn’t usually go up the stairs, but our newborn photos must have gotten him excited because he followed us up the steps to the nursery to join in on the photos. Mom told me it was the first time Lambert had ever been in Nolan’s nursery before. What a fun and sweet surprise! Puppy Chase didn’t need any convincing to bound up the steps. Newborn photography became his favorite thing ever the moment I walked in the door. He was buzzing with excitement for the entire photoshoot and didn’t want to miss a moment of the fun!

Moments like this happen every day but so rarely get photographed. As a mom myself, I’m almost always the one behind the camera documenting all the little and big moments as my daughter grows up. So I know how much it means for moms to get in the frame and see their love and joy reflected back to them. Being able to deliver pictures like these to a fellow mom is one of the most important reasons that newborn photography means so much to me!

Nolan was happiest when he was cuddled up to mommy and daddy. Lucky for him, snuggles and lots of love are my recipe for beautiful newborn photography. Knowing that Nolan will be able to look back on these moments and see how much his parents adore him makes my heart so full 🙂
