A Sweet Studio Newborn Session with Baby Jaxson
Being a newborn photographer near me is extra special when I get to see a returning family come back into the studio when they welcome a new baby. I had the privilege of capturing big sister Riley’s newborn photos a few years ago when she was born. And I was over the moon to welcome sweet baby Jaxson and his family into the studio as a new family of four.
Jaxson came into my natural light studio for his newborn photos when he was 2 weeks old. From the moment we began, it was clear that Riley was absolutely smitten with her new baby brother! She couldn’t stop giving Jaxson cuddles, hugs, and kisses throughout the session. Capturing the beginning of their lifelong sibling bond was such a joy!
Lifelong Memories for the Whole Family
One of my favorite parts of family-centered newborn photography is allowing siblings to simply interact with their new baby in a way that feels natural and genuine. Riley didn’t need much encouragement. She was eager to snuggle up close to Jaxson and shower him with affection. These are the kinds of moments that become even more meaningful as the years go by and she can look back on her excitement of becoming a big sister. Of course, we also made time to capture Jaxson with his parents and to document the connection they all share as a new family of four. Newborn sessions don’t have to be about perfectly posed moments. I love creating space for families to slow down, snuggle close, and simply enjoy being together while I capture the little interactions that make their family uniquely theirs.
Jaxson looked absolutely adorable in two sweet outfits from my Client Closet during his session. He first wore a cozy long-sleeve cream-colored knit romper that fit perfectly with the soft, timeless feel of the studio. Later, Mom changed him into an equally adorable pair of taupe newborn overalls. Both looks complemented the light and natural style of his newborn photos while keeping the focus on Jaxson and the people who already love him so much.
Jaxson is already surrounded by so much love, and it was such an honor to document this beautiful season for his family. Between Riley’s endless hugs and kisses, his parents’ adoring smiles, and Jaxson’s sweet little expressions, this session was the perfect reminder of just how quickly these early days pass.
Welcome to the world, sweet Jaxson. You are so very loved! And I have a feeling Riley is going to be the very best big sister!
