Simple, Timeless Newborn Photos
Light and airy newborn photos provide a classic and timeless look for your family’s memories that will never go out of style. There’s something so peaceful about those early days with your new baby—the way time slows down, the soft hush that fills a room, and the way a tiny baby can completely fill a space with magic just by being in it. Recently I had the pleasure of welcoming baby Heidi and her parents into my natural light studio for her newborn photos when she was 3 weeks old. Heidi’s session was full of that quiet magic, and I’m so honored to have captured all these sweet memories!
Preparing for Heidi’s Newborn Session
As we were preparing for Heidi’s newborn session, Mom selected numerous adorable outfits for Heidi from my Client Closet. We began with a delicate cream knit romper, which provided just the right amount of texture and softness. After getting out of her car seat and changing into her romper, Heidi was wide awake and bright-eyed to start off our session. I absolutely adore all the sweet expressions and little moments of connection I capture at this age as Heidi was beginning to focus on her parents and explore the world around her. To say she put on an adorable show for us would be a huge understatement!
Then we changed Heidi into her second outfit, a white linen ruffle romper with a simple, airy, and effortlessly sweet charm. After a feeding and a good burp, I laid Heidi down on my bean bag and she delighted us all with even more adorable, bright-eyed expressions!
As the session went on, Heidi began to get sleepy because it’s absolutely exhausting being that cute! So to help comfort her, I wrapped her in a fuzzy white swaddle so she could snuggle up for a cozy nap. She spent the final stretch of our photoshoot sleeping peacefully, and this is when we captured some of my favorite moments—Heidi curled up on her own, as well as lots of snuggles with Mommy and Daddy. These quiet little moments of connection are always the heart of my natural newborn sessions.
This sweet, tiny newborn stage is so fleeting and the days pass by so quickly you don’t even realize it, which is why it’s important to pause and preserve it. Heidi, you are so loved! Thank you to your mom and dad for trusting me to document the first chapter of your beautiful story! I hope to see you again soon and watch you grow!
