The Birthday Boy!

I’m so excited to share some of Justin’s 1st birthday cake smash & splash photos with you today! The last time I saw Justin was a year ago for his newborn photoshoot. Fast forward 12 months and it was such a treat to have him back into my Natural Light Studio to celebrate his birthday together. While it doesn’t happen often, mom requested to do Justin’s photos on his actual birthday. So Justin’s cake smash & splash photos were a true 1st birthday celebration!

1st Birthday Cake Smash Photos

After capturing some of Justin’s adorable smiles, we moved onto the cake smash. I love a simple, white cake with a simple cake topper for 1st birthday cake smash photos. Justin’s birthday party was scheduled for the upcoming weekend, so this was his very first time ever trying cake. He checked out the icing with his fingers first, and then dove right in for a full bite of cake. His icing moustache is just too cute!!

Splish Splash!

But the fun didn’t stop there! Just when we thought the excitement couldn’t get any sweeter, it was time for the splash portion of the photoshoot. This little tub is a new addition to my studio and I LOVE IT! What I love most about working with families with young kids is capturing real, authentic moments and genuine expressions. And nothing compares to the genuine joy of a child who’s free to play. Justin’s toothy smile as he splashed in the tub was the perfect way to bring his 1st birthday cake smash & splash photos to a close.

We had such a blast celebrating Justin’s big day together! Happy 1st birthday, Justin! I bet you make your parents smile until their cheeks hurt every single day!
