Celebrating Your Toddler’s Big Leap to Big Brother!

Doing maternity photos with a toddler is so much fun! There is something incredibly special about getting to watch a family grow through the years. I first met this sweet family when they were expecting their first baby boy, Justin, and since then I’ve had the honor of capturing his newborn photos and first birthday memories as well. So welcoming them back into my natural light studio for another maternity session truly felt like reconnecting with old friends as they prepare to welcome another little boy into the world.

One of my favorite things about maternity photoshoots with toddlers is that the session becomes about so much more than just documenting a pregnancy. The first time around, maternity photos are all about the excitement of becoming parents. But the second time around? There’s an entirely new layer of emotion woven into every moment. Now mom and dad get the joy of watching the little boy who first made them parents step into his new role as big brother.

And Justin absolutely stole the show!

From the moment he walked into the studio, he was full of sweetness and personality. He couldn’t get enough cuddles with his mama and loved snuggling close to her growing belly. Some of my favorite moments from the session were the quiet in-between moments — Justin wrapping his arms around mom, giving her kisses, and resting his head against her belly as if he already knew just how much he loves his baby brother.

These are the moments I love most during lifestyle maternity sessions in my natural light studio. Nothing forced or overly posed — just genuine connection, playful moments, and all the love this family shares together during such an exciting season of life.

It’s always such an honor when families continue to trust me to document their milestones year after year. Watching Justin grow from a tiny newborn into an excited big brother has been incredibly special, and I already know his little brother is being welcomed into the sweetest family.
