Lifestyle maternity photos are such a beautiful way to celebrate the love you have in your hearts as you prepare to welcome a new baby into your family! This new mama-to-be reached out to me with a vision for her maternity photos. She knew she wanted bright and airy photos with a relaxed, cozy vibe. When she sent me a few photo ideas she had in mind for inspiration, I knew our styles were a perfect match!

Mom also picked out some beautiful flowers as an accent. And I think they were the perfect touch to give their maternity photos a gorgeous pop of color!

Using Natural Light for Backlit Photos

With a full wall of floor to ceiling windows, my Natural Light Studio is a perfect setting for beautiful backlit photos. I deliver every image my clients select in both color and black & white. And often I find myself drawn to the color version. But with a dramatic contrast between light and shadows, backlit shots are especially beautiful in black & white. This simple, elegant shot may be one of my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken in my Natural Light Studio. There’s nothing else that compares with the glow of an expecting mother. I can’t tear my eyes away from this sweet mama patiently waiting to meet her baby boy…

I absolutely LOVE how we were able to take the ideas this new mom sent me for inspiration and bring her vision to life. And I can’t wait to see them again soon with their new baby boy snuggled in their arms!
