We celebrated Henry’s first full lap around the sun with a candid first birthday photoshoot in my natural light studio, and what a celebration it was! Henry surprised his family by arriving more than three months before his due date, weighing just 1 lb. 9 oz. He was a tiny, mighty fighter from the very start, and I’ve been following his journey as his mom posted updates on his growth and progress. There is something indescribably powerful about seeing a baby who began so small grow into a thriving, joyful little boy. After the journey he’s been through this past year, seeing Henry smile and watching his parents and big brother Jace absolutely adore him made this session extra special!

From Tiny Fighter to Chunky Little Monkey

Fast forward, and Henry is now an adorably chunky little monkey, full of personality and the happiest smiles. He explored my studio with wide-eyed curiosity, showing off his new skills and soaking up every bit of attention. One of my favorite things about 1st birthday sessions in my natural light studio is how organic and authentic they are. At this age, little ones are on the move and ready to play. I just love letting them explore while I document the magic as it unfolds.

Celebrating the First Full Lap Around the Sun

There’s something symbolic about a first birthday — one full trip around the sun. For Henry and his family, this year represents strength, resilience, hope, and so much love. Milestone sessions like this aren’t just about cute photos (though there were plenty of those!). They’re about honoring the journey — the late nights, the prayers, the growth, and the overwhelming gratitude that comes with watching your baby thrive.

Henry, you are living proof that the tiniest little bean can overcome every challenge life throws at you and grow into a beautiful little boy. Watching you celebrate this incredible milestone was such an honor. Cheers to this momentous first year, and to many, many more adventures ahead. Happy 1st birthday!
