I was so excited for Miss Ainsley to come into my studio for her 1st birthday photos! It’s amazing how much she’s grown since the last time I saw her as a tiny newborn. Every parent knows from experience how fast a year flies by. One moment, you’re in the sleep-deprived newborn stage. And then you blink and your little baby is taking their first steps as they stand on the cusp of toddlerhood. Among all the milestones in a child’s life, the first birthday holds a special place. So of course 1st birthday photos are the most popular milestone session I offer. I can’t wait to share some of the sweet moments we captured at Ainsley’s 1st birthday photoshoot!
Capturing That Toothy Grin
Ainsley’s smile absolutely stole my heart! First birthday photos capture the essence of this special moment in time. They freeze that infectious giggle, the gleam in Ainsley’s eyes, that toothy grin, and those chubby little legs that may not stay chubby for much longer. These images become cherished memories that can be revisited whenever the need for a trip down memory lane arises. No matter how big she gets as the years go by, she will still be this smiling baby girl in her mama’s eyes.
Candid 1st Birthday Photos
1st birthday photos are about so much more than just trying to get your baby to smile for the camera. I love to document the moments that unfold when I give little ones the freedom to just explore. These moments when Ainsley was looking out the window and playing with the curtains in my studio are some of my favorite photos from our session. And we even captured some of her earliest steps as she’s just on the cusp of learning to walk. I call these the “drunken sailor” days, when babies wobble around as they’re figuring out how to make their little legs take them all of the place they wish to go. Bottling up these days, these moments, is priceless.
Time to Play!
I love setting aside time for little ones to play during my 1st birthday milestone sessions as well. We broke out a board book that Ainsley loved, and of course the bunny rocker is always a big hit for 1st birthday photos. She’s rocking her way right into toddlerhood and couldn’t be more adorable if she tried!
Happy 1st birthday, Ainsley! It has been so wonderful watching you grow throughout this past year, and I can’t wait to see you again soon 🙂
