Choosing newborn photo outfits doesn’t need to be complicated. Pure & simple newborn photos are what I love to capture as a Lifestyle Newborn Photographer. A knit romper, a beautiful swaddle wrap or blanket, a pair of newborn pants–these are just a few of my favorite outfits for natural newborn photos.
The first and foremost tip I always recommend to new moms who ask for help choosing outfits for their baby’s newborn photos that a snug fit is best for photos so that the outfit doesn’t bunch up. Most baby clothing brands start their sizing at 0-3 months since babies grow out of the newborn size quickly. But for natural newborn photos, putting your baby in an outfit that’s baggy and bunches up as the baby moves around is not ideal. I know from experience just how challenging it can be to find those adorable outfits in newborn and preemie sizes, and that’s why I started building my Client Closet.
