Natural Newborn Photography in Studio | Pottstown, PA

Natural newborn photography in my studio has quickly become one of my favorite types of sessions! And this newborn photoshoot was extra special for me as I got to meet my new cousin, baby Brynna! Brynna was 2 weeks fresh in this world when we took her newborn photos, and she couldn’t possibly have been more adorable. My heart was ready to burst as I watched big sister Lianna loving on her new baby sister. And watching my cousin Tara become a new mom for the second time, bursting with love as she cuddled with both of her girls, it’s hard to describe. Doing our newborn photos in my Natural Light Studio gave us beautiful natural light and a warm & cozy environment to capture ALL the snuggles! I can only imagine how much joy it’s going to bring the whole family to watch these beautiful girls grow up together.

Capturing Genuine Emotions

For me, natural newborn photography is all about capturing authentic expressions and emotions. That’s why I describe my style of newborn photography as natural, family-centered lifestyle photography. While posed newborn photographers aim to photograph the baby in carefully curated poses, my natural approach to newborn photography is all about capturing genuine moments with the family.

Candid Moments

I’m always ready to capture spontaneous moments of connection between a newborn baby and their family. And when we do newborn photos in my Natural Light Studio, every sweet moment and kiss and laugh happens in beautiful light. When big sister Lianna looked at her Daddy and laughed, I was ready with my fast shutter speed to freeze that moment forever. These unscripted moments that unfold when a family snuggles with their new baby can’t help but become cherished favorites. I can’t even look at this picture without smiling 🙂

Patience is Key

And when it comes to capturing all the beautiful newborn expressions and movements that make my heart sing, I simply place the baby in a safe and snuggly spot in good light, have patience, and take lots of pictures. Some photographers would call me an over-shooter, but it’s exactly this approach that allows me to consistently capture those sweet newborn expressions at every session. When newborn babies are awake, every moment is a new expression. I click away as we watch the baby stretch, yawn, look around, and explore their world. And when the baby looks toward the wall of windows and the light catches their eye or the sound of the shutter clicking on my camera draws them to look right at the camera, it’s simply magical!
