A Joyful Studio Maternity Session for Big Sister Shea
Lifestyle studio maternity photos are the best way to celebrate all the love and excitement a growing family feels as they prepare to welcome their new baby into the world! When mom initially reached out to me, it was such a fun blast from the past because Shea and my daughter Lucy played together when they were toddlers in our local moms group. Fast forward to the present and it’s mind boggling how almost a decade has flown by in what feels like the blink of an eye!
My heart absolutely melted when mom told me that Shea was the driving force behind this session. She was the one who asked her mom to reach out and schedule both maternity and newborn photos because she is beyond excited to become a big sister. Her enthusiasm was contagious the moment they walked into the studio. Shea’s joy and excitement lit up the entire room, and she was so gentle and affectionate toward her mom’s baby bump, already showing off that natural big sister instinct.
We captured a mix of cozy, candid moments and light, joy-filled portraits. There were quiet snuggles, with lots of tender hands resting on mom’s belly and playful twirls with Shea. She wrapped her arms around her mom, rested her head on her bump, and gave the sweetest smiles and softest kisses. You could tell this baby is already so loved!
It was such an honor to preserve this joyful moment for a family who clearly shares such a deep bond. I can’t wait to welcome them back to the studio soon for their newborn session. Something tells me Shea will be eager for loads of snuggles with her new sibling!
