I absolutely LOVE being a first birthday photographer, as this age is quickly becoming one of my favorites to photograph! I’m thrilled to share with you the delightful experience I recently had capturing precious moments to celebrate Aramis’s first birthday in my Natural Light Studio. There’s something magical about documenting this huge milestone as little ones make the transition from baby to toddler. And Aramis’s birthday session was no exception! From his toothy grin to those curious expressions as he played with the toy blocks mom brought along, it’s impossible to choose a favorite moment.

Light & Bright Milestone Photos in My Natural Light Studio

I love keeping things simple for my milestone sessions. So the families I work with know they can expect light & bright photos that highlight their little one in a way that’s organic and free of distractions. That’s why I don’t use elaborate posing or props or themed set-ups in my milestone sessions. Just a full wall of floor to ceiling windows, a bed, and a white curtain wall are all we need to let your little one play and explore. Every sweet expression and playful moment happens in beautiful light, and I love it!

Aramis loved looking through one of the books I have in my studio, flipping the pages and making friends with the foxes and squirrels.

And he also loved playing with the blocks mom brought along with her to the session. Mom knew she wanted to highlight the big O N E for Aramis’s first birthday, and I just love the soft blue chunky sweater she picked that brings out the blue in his eyes as he played with his blocks. I always set aside time for play during my milestone sessions so we can capture the genuine excitement and curiosity that little ones have at this age.
