A pair of unbuttoned jeans paired with a bare belly creates a cozy, classic look that never goes out of style. And the wonderful thing is, there are so many options for how you can approach this look.

Layering Your Look With a Classic Button Up Shirt
Another popular look that never goes out of style is jeans with a button up shirt over a bra. Whether you want to stick with light neutrals for a light & bright look, mix black & white for a striking contrast, or bring in a special element like flowers, an ultrasound picture, or a baby toy, this is a classic look with plenty of options for personal touches:
Swapping Pieces for a Variety of Looks
One of the greatest things about doing bare belly maternity photos is how quick and easy it is to bring variety to your photos throughout the session without having to do a full scale outfit change. You can pair jeans and a white bra with a chunky sweater or cardigan for a more cozy & casual bare belly look. This particular coffee-colored cardigan is one of the pieces in my Client Closet, but you can also use this as an idea for inspiration as well:
You can dress up this same look by switching out the chunky knit cardigan for a lacy kimono (also available in my Client Closet):
Or you can ditch the extra layer altogether and just stick with a simple white bra to show off your beautiful tattoos:
And you can even bring in a cute little pair of baby shoes or a sonogram picture for a special little touch:
If you’re on the fence and can’t decide, sometimes you don’t have to! There are so many ways you can dress up or accessorize or add a special touch to a pair of jeans and a simple bra. The key is to be true to what you love so these photos will tell your growing family’s story in a way that is genuine and meaningful to you.

Using backlighting to create silhouettes is one of my favorite ways to highlight your beautiful baby bump with bare belly maternity photos. Whether it’s a quiet moment with your hands gently resting on your belly, a sweet little moment with your first baby before he becomes a big brother, or a forehead-to-forehead moment with your partner, a silhouette is such a beautiful way to capture the connection and anticipation you share as you wait to meet your new baby.
Sometimes less truly is more. Every maternity session is customized to help you feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful. Whether you’re drawn to a cozy, casual look or something more styled and artistic, bare belly photos can be as subtle, bold, or sentimental as you’d like.
